A small dialogue from Heart and Rush

"___ I don't know what have I come to do here... - Alec walked from one side to another of the room. He got nervous after peeping the audience, there was a lot of people coming in to watch the last lecture which Richard was going to present there at his university. Now he was part of that lecture too - Have you observed what's out there? It seems that half western part of the country has come here today… - he said, kidding his own nervous.

___ It's alright, Alec; you don't have to be so upset. - Richard smiled at him and handed him the papers whose words Alec had written and they had printed the document only for the lecture - The first time on the stage is always the hardest one - he laughed - but it is the most unforgeteable too. You may think of being impossible to open your mouth in front of so many people, but, when you least expect that, the whole audience turns into only one, it is like you were talking to only one person, in your living room.

___ Yeah… I didn't have seen it like that… - Alec looked at the audience again, there were more people coming and taking their seats at the almost full auditorium. - The difference between one person or one hundred…

___ … Is the amount of tomatoes that they can throw in your face! - Josh's voice arrived first before he would step on the backstage.

___ Get out of here, man!… - Alec laughed at his friend and hit the papers, wrapped like a tube, on his head - I bet he came here bearing a bag plenty of tomatoes and made sure of everyone in the audience to get one.

Richard laughed at both:
___ Do you intend to stay and to watch the lecture, Josh? Or have you come just to wish us "good luck"?

___ Sarah dragged me along here. I don't know what she does think of that, but she told me that it may upgrade my childish mind… I didn't get what she meant… Well, in all cases, you both there on the stage is much better than me! Gone!…I'll be watching you there at the exit, boys! Good luck!

Both of them laughed at Josh and he left. Alec looked once again to the audience:
___ And what about Dináh? Haven't she come yet?

___ I don't know, there is too many people in the auditorium.

Reitor Williams came up to the back door:
___ We are ready to start, guys. Everything's up?

Richard stared at Alec, who took a deep breath and just nodded, meaning he was ready:
___ Let's go, Richard.

Richard, who had come from Denmark to make that lecture in San Francisco, was the first one to step on the stage, he presented Alec as partner and collaborator with the research and the project. Thus, Richard started the lecture just like the other former presentations, and, at the final, he asked Alec to come on near the microphone to say and to explain his own considerations and ideas
.Alec looked at the whole audience in a glance, smiled, and started saying what he had planned to say on the stage. Everybody heard him in silence, and Alec could sight there, at the middle of the third row, his dear Dináh. She was smiling at him and watched him under a profound attention and proud of his words, which he was speaking to so many people for the first time. He was so shy on that huge stage, saying all those thoughts in words whose meaning they both had known so well in their lives, like a comprehension of the unity, of the respect, of the integration, the meeting with our universe through the own being, the Universal Love, the care and responsibility and integrity with our own acts…. The Life.

___ 'The Life, - Alec concluded his speech - that does not end in each one of us, as long as we are not alone in this world. The Life that does not start in each one of us as soon as we are born. Life has no beginning, life does not finish itself, as long as we are like one tiny grain of dust, which bears and carries inside, life enough to be unleashed a whole process which we call Universe in our present days. The Universe is that tiny particle which we think of being so huge, and which we have learned how to deal to and to treat without respect sometimes - due our wrong judgement that makes us believe the Universe not like a part of our own, for always put the world in the foreign parts of our beliefs, for glancing only the brief, the shor-living, the nearest, the transitory, the common, whatever is going to serve us in any proposit, at last, giving up on any consequences, on any guaranty of a sane future, as long as we all have already been sure enough of these forth days to come like some thing out of any speculation, something that will be inherited by the other minds to come, other beings who are not ourselves. Thus, we cut the Life's strings, the root of our integrity and the reasons for which we are deserving of this name: Human Beings. Here, today, there were so many doubts, so much incertainty by myself who came on this stage to say my ideas aloud, thoughts that I could only write down in days of strong and vivid certainty. When I have been sure enough of all of us and everything that's living in the world like only one thing: Life. And, in that unity, we can't, we shall not see ourselves like foreign ones, like strangers, because it is in each one of us that the other one depends on, and all of us wouldn't get by a single day without being sure of the next sunrise, and that the sun will return for everyone.
So: to know, to keep, to construct and to get an evollution. And to continue like it was in the beginning, just like it was in the starting line, the same essence of everything around us. Like a cicle that never stops, there is only one sentence that must go on everlasting while everything else passes: The Life.'

Alec ended his lecture and there was no pause to separate his last words from the applauses that came from the audience in a whole body.

It was so amazing to be there, standing on before so many young and grown ups who were applauding the words which he had brought to his own life like a weird puzzle game, like a play of sensations and truthes that had been proved and all of them were understood in that moment and place, when they could fit inside of so many other minds.

Alec smiled, launching a last sight towards Dináh, as he left the stage.

___ My most sincere congratulations, Alec… - Richard greeted him in the backstage - I'd like to thank you for coming and presenting your ideas in such a beautiful and clear way.

___ It's me who owe you thanks, Richard - Alec hugged the friend, feeling the emotion still strong inside his own spirit - It was me who learned something quite precious today, my friend. I've learned that the time comes and brings its answers before any questions are done, and that we can't be stuck half way when life makes the questions. Life does not admit minds kind of ready, does not admit any shadow of a doubt or a knowledge that runs only upon the surface. When Life makes the questions, we rather show total ignorance about the answer than offering an incomplete and deficient answer. For me, now, I do not ignore the questions anymore, because I could realize what time takes years to say thru its answers."

About the second novel: Bourbon Street Tale

About Patricky Field
Patricky Field, a 22 years old girl, gave start in what herself calls like a beginning of a story else, in 1997. Just another try of writing a novel, like the other fresh writers do. That story, about a young girl, Dináh, who travels in excursion to Cairo and comes back carrying one memory in the back of her mind, the image of a lonely boy who crossed her way far ahead, where the piramides are. That image didn't mean only an ordinary sight, that moment when she saw that strange guy was going to be, maybe, the most important moment of her life so far.

Thoughts of mine could get shape and color and then that idea gave start to an entire story full of personages who compose this novel: Heart and Rush. It is passed almost ten years, and that novel is still on the way, being writen, they are more than 1000 pages of one story that opened roads to many other stories that came after Alec and Dináh.
